Meet the format
A lasting home for your own recipes.
Each recipe holds its ingredients, its method, and where it came from. Around it, your library adds what helps you find it again a year later: search, books, tags, notes, ratings, and every earlier version.
Your tags and ratings stay in your library. The recipe itself is what you take with you when you export it.
See Savorum in useWho operates Savorum.
Veridorn LLC operates Cloud and Connect. Cloud includes hosting and managed backups. With Core, you run the server and maintain its backups yourself.
Cloud and Connect subscriptions help fund Savorum’s development. The self-hosted Core is free and open source, and recipe exports use the separate SREF format.
The privacy policy and terms explain how Cloud and Connect look after your collection.
Get in touchWhy the format is a separate project.
Changing the batch size should not rewrite the author’s instructions, and a regional measure should not quietly change meaning. Those rules have to hold in whatever program reads the file, not only in this one.
So SREF has its own specification, schema, versions, and tests, separate from the app. An exported recipe keeps exact amounts, clear units, the author’s wording, where it came from, and its photos and files.
Inside the SREF formatFree, open-source Core.
Savorum Core is licensed under AGPL-3.0. Run it on your own hardware, back it up, and export your recipes, all without a subscription.
It is one program, one database, and one folder for your photos and files, all on hardware you choose.
The API and the format.
The API reference describes every request the app accepts and what it returns. SREF describes the recipe you export from it.
